Expository Preaching

We Believe in Expository Preaching of the Word of God Expository preaching is the faithful attempt of the preacher to proclaim and explain that which the Bible teaches in a particular passage. In expository preaching, the Scripture itself, which God gave to be the rule for our life and faith, dictates the theme and message believers need to hear to help them grow in their faith and to mature in their walk with Him. The preacher’s job is to expound the Scriptures, explain the Bible’s meaning, and apply God’s message to the lives of believers today. We believe that it is God alone who makes the truth of Scripture real and applicable to the heart of the people who hear it proclaimed. The Word is preached, but we rely completely on the Spirit of God to take the Word proclaimed and apply it as needed in the life and heart of His people. Scripture is preached in an expository fashion because we hold the Word of God in high esteem and understand that God has made this His unique tool for changing lives. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:16-17
